VIAMARK CREATIVE WINS GOLD ADDY AWARD IN PHILADELPHIA
ViaMark Advertising recently made high-priced creative say ‘Uncle’ at the Philadelphia ADDY Awards. The agency won Gold in the Local :60 Radio category for Uncle Dave’s Homemade Ice Cream.
Owner Dave Adami called on ViaMark to create a fun, memorable commercial that vaulted the Uncle Dave's brand and notoriety in America’s fifth largest media market. "After all, we’re selling fun," said Adami. Adami contributed significantly to the spot with his locally flavored dialect, and is featured in both the beginning and end with catch phrase, "It's Deeee-Licious.”
ViaMark’s aim with the campaign was to mesh opposing elements that delivered both recall and unpredictability. “Campaigns are just like any human relationship—they need consistency & unpredictability to form and maintain loyalty,” said Creative Director Lori McIlwain. “Dave really got that and allowed us to take his advertising to a level that served both needs.”
Even local-ad campaigns typically have high budgets in markets like Philly. “We had some strong competition,” said ViaMark Philadelphia’s Stephen Facenda. “Honestly, we weren’t looking to create an award-winning campaign, but it’s refreshing to see effective advertising recognized—not just the high-budget ads.”
