This checkmark encourages customers to click your ads and even helps build your reputation online. It is used in combination with local service ads, that are most popular among service-based companies: i.e. local HVAC, plumbing, electricians, etc.
The Google Guarantee
Google Guarantee is granted only to businesses that use AdWords advertising and have passed a Google screening and qualification process through Google Local Services. If a business qualifies, it is advertised with the Official Google Guarantee Badge. If any customers are unsatisfied with your services, they may be reimbursed by Google with a $2,000 lifetime cap. If you are interested in the Google Guarantee, there are several steps you’ll need to take to get on board. First, make sure your Google My Business Page is verified and maintained. You’ll also need at least one review on your page for your listing to show.
Next, make sure your business is properly licensed and insured. You will have to provide sufficient documentation (certificate of insurance and license number) to prove this, and the verification process can take up to two weeks to complete. As the business owner, you will have to undergo a background check as well.
Google Guarantee Coverage
If a customer is dissatisfied with the quality of your business’s work, Google will cover claims up to the job invoice amount, with a lifetime cap of $2,000. Services must be booked through Google Local Services. Add-on services, property damage, future projects, dissatisfaction with price or provider responsiveness, and cancellations are not covered, and claims must be submitted within 30 days of the service completion date.
To set up Google Guarantee, sign up for Local Services ads. Complete the background check as well as the license and insurance verification. You can also start now by signing up for Google Local Services. If your customer submits a claim, Google will contact you in regards to information about the situation, and you will have the opportunity to resolve it with your customer. Google will then make a verdict on how to handle the claim once the investigation is complete.
If you’ve never used local service ads, it’s a bit different from your traditional Google search campaign. You’re only charged for verified phone calls (Google records both sides of the conversation) and you can set a budget for how much you’d like to spend on a weekly basis.
